🛍️ Getting Started with WooCommerce Signup Discount Plugin #

Welcome to the WooCommerce Signup Discount plugin — a simple and effective way to boost user registrations and first-time purchases by offering automatic discount coupons to new users.

Follow this guide to quickly configure and launch your signup discount system.

✅ Step 1: Enable the Plugin #

Go to:
WooCommerce → Settings → Signup Discount Tab

  • ✔️ Enable: Toggle this ON to activate the plugin.

  • ✔️ Restrict Email: (Optional) Enable this to ensure the discount is only used with the same email as registration.

🎯 Step 2: Configure Discount Settings #

  • Discount Type: Choose how you want to offer the discount:
    Percentage, Fixed cart amount, or Fixed product amount.

  • Coupon Prefix: Set a prefix (e.g., XR) for all auto-generated coupons.

  • Discount Amount: Define the value (e.g., 10 for 10%).

  • Allow Free Shipping: (Optional) Let the coupon include free shipping.

  • Exclude Sale Items: Prevent coupon from applying to already discounted products.

🛒 Step 3: Target Products and Categories #

You can fine-tune which products the discount will apply to:

  • Include Products/Categories: Apply only to selected ones.

  • Exclude Products/Categories: Prevent the coupon from being used on these items.

⏳ Step 4: Set Conditions #

  • Coupon Validity (in days): Define how long the coupon is valid after signup.

  • Minimum / Maximum Purchase: Set value limits for coupon usage.

📧 Step 5: Customize Email Notification #

The plugin automatically emails the user with the coupon code.

  • Email From Name & Email: Define sender details.

  • Email Subject: Customize with variables like {USERNAME}.

  • Email Body: Use variables like:

    • {USERNAME}

    • {COUPONCODE}

    • {COUPONEXPIRY}

  • Enable Popup: Show popup on site load.

  • Exit Intent: Show popup when user is about to leave.

  • Close on Overlay Click: Let users close popup easily.

Customize Appearance #

  • Popup Background Image: Upload an engaging banner.

  • Popup Dimensions: Set width/height in pixels.

  • Popup Animation: Choose effects like Tada, Bounce, etc.

  • Popup Text: Enter heading or call-to-action like:

🧠 Tips & Best Practices #

  • Use clear and short coupon prefixes to avoid confusion.

  • Set a reasonable expiry time (e.g., 7–10 days) to create urgency.

  • Combine this with other onboarding incentives (free shipping, email welcome series, etc.).

  • Match the popup design with your site’s branding for a seamless look.

Once you’re done, click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page to activate your settings.
